Over the past 60 years, generations of officers and soldiers of Division 7 have overcome countless hardships, fought heroically, made great sacrifices, and achieved numerous outstanding victories, forging the proud tradition of “Unity - Heroism - Victory over Aggressors.” The division has twice been awarded the Hero of the People's Armed Forces title.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Nam congratulated and commended Division 7 for its outstanding achievements.
He emphasized that the unit should continue to thoroughly embrace and effectively implement the Party’s guidelines, as well as the State’s laws and policies on military and defense affairs.
He called for breakthroughs in innovation and improvements in the quality of training, exercises, and competitions. He asked the unit to organize troop training under harsh conditions that are close to combat realities, operational missions, adversaries, and areas of operation.

In addition, the unit should pro-actively and closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to safeguard internal political security, conduct mass mobilization work, and build strong political foundations in stationed areas.
At the ceremony, authorized by the State President, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam presented the Third-class Fatherland Protection Order to Division 7.
