Deputy-Defense Minister visits Military Region 1
PANO - On March 21, a delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by Deputy-Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, visited and worked with Military Region 1 (MR 1).
Having been briefed on MR1’s task performance over the past time, General Vinh spoke highly of their achievements, particularly in maintaining combat readiness, ensuring social order and safety, and protecting national sovereignty over the border areas.

Dozens of border localities and stations twinned with their neighborhoods as parts of the MR1’s master plan for building a border of peace, friendship and stability. In addition, the region also fulfilled their enlistment drives, increasingly improved training quality, and conducted gratitude activities to take care of national contributors and policy beneficiaries.
General Vinh also noted that the MR1 Command should enhance military cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with their neighborhoods along the borderline, contributing to maintaining peace and stability for economic development.
Previously, the Deputy-Defense Minister and his delegation inspected Ta Lung International Border Gate, worked with the leadership of Phuc Hoa district and Cao Bang province in preparation for the upcoming 5th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, which is scheduled for May this year.
