With its outstanding outcomes in construction, combat and growth, the school has been awarded with various noble orders and titles by the Party, the State, the Military Central Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke highly of the academy’s achievements over the past years. He stressed that complicated developments in the world have forced the country to roll out new tasks in the national construction and defense cause. To well implement the national defense strategy in the current context, the Party and the State have focused on building a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually-modernized army and several modern corps, in which the building of a politically-strong army must be strongly underscored and will become a fundamental and urgent issue.
Regarding the academy’s task performance in the current period, deserving to be a leading center for training cadres and doing scientific research of the army, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the academy to continue studying and well carrying out the Party's and the State’s guidelines and policies to build the people’s army and defend the Fatherland in the current context.
The academy was also requested to promote the building of a politically-strong army, continuously renovate its political education work, orient troops’ thoughts, bring into play the role and effectiveness of the Party and political work in the army as well as actively and proactively perfect its training models and goals in accordance with reality, meeting the requirements of building the army in the new context.
Furthermore, the academy was suggested to expand its international cooperation in training and fostering military cadres with its foreign partners, making contributions to well implementing the Party’s foreign relations guidelines and confirming its position and prestige in training cadres for the Party and the Army.
In terms of conducting scientific research, the Prime Minister asked the academy to closely and directly attach the work to its training, contributing to the improvement of its training quality. The academy should also study theories and summarize real outcomes to work out suitable solutions to its training as well.
Expressing his hope that each trainee must become a good political cadre in military units, Prime Minister Phuc asked them to heighten their study motive and responsibility, actively overcome difficulties, and proactively train themselves to improve their virtues and abilities as a political commissar of a regiment or a division, or as a researcher, an instructor in social sciences and humanities at defense institutions, a cadre with high capabilities of scientifically thinking and organizing real activities to meet assigned tasks.
The Prime Minister believed that with its accomplishments, feats-of-arms and glorious traditions, the academy’s cadres, trainees, staffers and troops, under the sound leadership of the Party, the State, the Military Central Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, would exert their efforts to overcome any challenges to gloriously fulfill all assigned tasks.
