Defense Ministry plans to present gifts in coming Lunar New Year
PANO – In the coming Lunar New Year festival, the Ministry of National Defense will prioritize visiting and presenting gifts to those carrying out missions at sea, on islands and in border areas and centers for wounded soldiers and national contributors.
The statement is part of the General Department of Politics’ Plan 2077/KH-CT approved by General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister.
The approved plan aims to encourage troops in border areas, at sea and on islands, revolutionary veterans, national contributors, fallen soldiers’ families and needy veterans to have a happy and cozy traditional lunar New Year festival and successfully fulfill assigned tasks in 2019, contributing to firmly safeguarding the nation.

Accordingly, the General Department of Politics assigned relevant agencies to effectively carry out the program and asked Party Committees and Chain-of-commands of military units to promote leadership and direction to ensure the effective implementation of the program.
The General Department of Politics was authorized to instruct defense agencies and military units to visit and hand over gifts to recipients in line with the President’s, the Central Organization Commission’s and Defense Ministry’s regulations.
