At the reception, General Giang affirmed that senior leaders of the two countries have treasured, preserved and consolidated the Vietnam – Laos special relationship. He emphasized that the Party, State, Government, military and people of Vietnam always bear in mind the support of the Lao Government, military and people to the Vietnamese people’s resistance wars for national independence and reunification and current national construction and defense cause.

The Vietnamese Defense Minister expressed his delight at the fruitful bilateral defense cooperation, which has been an important pillar in the relationship between the two countries. He said that on the basis of the Protocol in the 2020-2024 period and annual cooperation plan, the bilateral defense cooperation in the fields of Party and political work, education and training has developed in an intensive, practical and effective manner.
During the conversation, General Giang highly appreciated the outcomes of the talks between Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone and his Vietnamese counterpart Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong.

Over the past time, the two sides have well coordinated in carrying out cooperation contents. Together with maintaining information exchange among services, arms and services, and border defense forces and promoting cooperation in training and education, the two sides have supported each other in building regular and modernized militaries and raising combat readiness capabilities to firmly protect defense and security of each country.
2022 is credited as the year of Vietnam –Laos and Laos – Vietnam friendship by senior leaders of the two countries. Therefore, the Vietnamese Defense Ministry hoped that the two sides will foster their multifaceted cooperation, promote information dissemination and education to enrich troops’ knowledge of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and two militaries.
For his part, Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone thanked the Vietnamese defense minister for the warm reception. The Lao official evaluated that cooperation fields have been comprehensively and effectively carried out by the two militaries. He expected that the two sides will continue preserving and bring into play the bilateral special friendship and consider it a valuable treasure of the two nations.
