On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien congratulated the diplomats on being appointed by the Party and State to the position of heads of Vietnamese representative missions in foreign countries for the 2023-2026 term, affirming that this is a great honor and also a glorious task entrusted by the Party, State, and people.

The deputy defense minister emphasized that together with the party diplomacy, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy, external defense relations with the target of protecting the Fatherland early and from afar is an important channel, contributing to protecting national sovereignty by peaceful means on the basis of international law, building strategic trust, and enhancing the position of Vietnam in the international arena.
The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense highly appreciate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ close attention and coordination in international integration and defense diplomacy over the past time, contributing to the synchronous, comprehensive, and effective implementation of external defense relations, the general said.
He hoped that Vietnamese ambassadors and chief representatives in foreign countries would successfully complete their assigned tasks, promote their role as a bridge between Vietnam and the world to contribute to strengthening the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries and international organizations, foster military and defense cooperation, create a peaceful and stable environment and take advantage of all resources for national development.
For the countries that Vietnam has sent defense attachés to, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expected that the ambassadors will pay attention to and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese defense attaché agencies to complete external defense relations missions.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet thanked the defense leader for the reception. He affirmed that all 15 ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese representative offices abroad this term are diplomats with many years of experience in carrying out various activities, and broad practical knowledge. Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet noted the contents of Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien's speech to direct Vietnamese representative missions abroad to closely coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense in carrying out foreign affairs in host countries.
For their part, the ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese representative missions abroad affirmed that they will always exert utmost effort, be flexible and adaptive to successfully complete the assigned tasks, closely adhere to the requirements of the national development and ensure national interests.
