The event was chaired by Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang and attended by leaders of the General Department of Politics and the General Staff.

Over the past two years, the General Staff embraced and strictly implemented resolutions and directives of the Politburo and the Central Military Commission and instructions of leaders of the Ministry of National Defense while working with other agencies and units to carry out the project.

As a result, by July 2020, Command 86 had initially fulfilled the missions set for the first phase. Particularly, the unit organized its personnel as a new combat force of the military, effectively performed its advisory role to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, and achieved encouraging results in its task implementation. The leadership and troops of the unit are united and ready to undertake and fulfill all missions.

Regarding missions in the time ahead, Giang requested the General Staff to instruct its agencies and units to review regulations and continue implementing the remaining missions. He added that the achievements in the first phase will serve as a foundation to set and carry out missions in the next phase.

The Chief of the General Staff also asked Command 86 to strictly carry out directives and orders on combat readiness, make additional recommendations to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, and cooperate with military and civilian agencies and units to complete legal documents for task implementation in the future.
