Chemical troops conduct disinfection against COVID-19 pandemic in Quang Nam
PANO – Over 50 troops from the Response Center for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Hazards in the Central Region, Chemical Battalion 78 under the Staff of Military Region 5, and the Logistics Department of Military Region 5, together with dozens of vehicles sprayed disinfectants in over 20 places of five districts and towns of Quang Nam province on August 2.

The Hoi An City People’s Committee and Military Command sent forces to ensure security and social order for the mission.
As planned, the specialized vehicle numbered ARS-14 of the Response Center for CBRN Hazards sprayed disinfectants in An Hoi Street, Minh An ward, Bao Thang pagoda, and the Hoi An General Hospital. Many vehicles were mobilized to spray disinfectants along streets and in precincts while medical personnel sprayed disinfectants on locations that the vehicles cannot reach.
Non-commissioned Second Lieutenant Nguyen Van Linh, a driver from the Center, used spraying devices on Sanijet vehicle skillfully. He said that all the team members have known to operate all parts of the vehicle. In spite of hot weather, they worked hard as they wanted to join local efforts to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Lanh stressed that the assistance of chemical troops helps not only prevent the disease but also raise locals’ awareness of the pandemic prevention and control.

According to Senior Colonel Truong Quang Nhan, Deputy Chief-of-Staff of Military Region 5, participating troops sprayed disinfectants in 25 areas of Hoi An city, Dien Ban town, and the districts of Thang Binh, Dai Loc, and Duy Xuyen.
