PANO - The Centre for Bomb and Mine Clearance and Environmental Protection of Military Zone 5 on July 8th marked its 10th founding anniversary and received the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit.
Over the past years, the centre has constructed nearly 1,000 projects of different scales, detected and cleared more than 240 tons of bombs and ammunitions, and freed more than 4,000 hectares of contaminated soil for cultivation.
In addition, the unit has well carried out mass mobilization work as well as social and gratitude activities. Its officers, troops, and workers raised billions of VND to build houses for policy beneficiaries, help people in flood-hit areas, and assist Da Nang city’s centre for Agent Orange victims and disabled children and the program to surmount the post-war consequences.
For their contributions, the centre has been presented with the third class Labour Order by the State, a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister, and other noble awards.
