Capacity-building training course for fire prevention forces of the army
PANO – A training course to raise capacity of fire prevention and firefighting forces has been organized by the Department of Search and Rescue of the Ministry of National Defense.
During a week-long event, more than 120 cadres in the whole army studied legal documents related to this work and were equipped with methods to extinguish fires in high-rise buildings, stamp out oil fires as well as skills to operate new rescue equipment and to develop plans to deal with scenarios in localities where they are stationed.
The participants also witnessed performances by troops of Brigade 140 of some skills involved in extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings.
Senior Colonel Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Search and Rescue, affirmed the importance of the event which helped raise fire prevention and firefighting forces’ awareness of and responsibility for the work. He added that regular training would increase the efficiency and awareness of fire prevention and firefighting work in order to minimize any loss of life or damage to property.
