Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Ngo Minh Tien, head of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) mission, made that statement while leading an inspecting visit to Ca Mau province on October 13.

At the working session, the mission was reported on the province’s outcomes in implementation of military and defense affairs over the past time. In particular, the province has well integrated socio-economic and cultural development with military and defense consolidation and promotion.

The provincial military command has effectively performed its staff role to help build a strong provincial defensive area in both potential and posture.

In addition, the local armed forces have been strengthened to be able to meet combat readiness and combat requirements in any situations.

Other work related to registering and managing people doing military service and joining self-defense and militia and reserve forces, and conducting recruitment drives have been carried out in line with regulations. The province has also ensured budget for local defense work, meeting the requirements of building defensive areas, training, and raising combat readiness ability for the local armed forces.

Courses on knowledge of defense and security have been also opened for target trainees.

Concluding the inspecting session, General Tien acknowledged and praised the province’s outcomes in the work. He asked the locality to continue embracing and effectively realizing the Party’s guideline and the State’s laws on national defense while concentrating on keeping the party organization, all-level party cells, and a political system strong and healthy.

The deputy chief of the General Staff also urged the province to pay due attention to building politically, ideologically, and organizationally-strong capable armed forces with high combat readiness ability and synergy.
