Troops of the Border Post of Ma Lu Thang Border Gate hand over the lost property to the owner.

Previously, at 10:20 a.m. on May 11, during immigration control duties at the Ma Lu Thang Border Gate Inter-agency Control Center, Major Nguyen Duy Dong, Head of Immigration Procedures at the Ma Lu Thang Border Gate Border Post, discovered a black bag left in the waiting area for immigration procedures.

Upon initial inspection, the bag was found to contain CNY 800, VND 8.5 million, a pouch of ID photos, a SIM card holder, and a pack of cigarettes. Major Dong immediately reported the incident to his superiors to initiate efforts to locate the owner.

Using professional methods, including the examination of immigration records and CCTV footage, the authorities identified the bag as belonging to Luo Deng Hua (born in 1984), a Chinese citizen who had entered Vietnam at 10:15 a.m. on May 11 for tourism purposes and had accidentally left the bag after completing immigration procedures.

After verifying his identity, the Border Post of the Ma Lu Thang Border Gate contacted the Jinshuihe Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station to assist in locating the tourist. By May 13, they successfully reached Luo Deng Hua, and on May 14, he received his bag and all its contents in full.

Upon reclaiming his property, Luo Deng Hua sent a letter of appreciation expressing gratitude for the integrity and dedication of the Ma Lu Thang Border Gate Border Post, particularly Major Dong.

This act helped promote the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in particular and strengthened the sound friendship between Vietnam and China in general.
