Border guards not only helped locals build new concrete houses, but also mobilized them to give up the custom of shifting cultivation of wandering hill-tribes, multiplied economic development models, and taught their children.
In addition, they teamed up with local authorities to broadcast Party and State guidelines and policies in Vietnamese and Pa Hu languages to local people, and thoroughly grasped social situations to address all problems in any circumstances, contributing to maintaining order along the borderline.
For these achievements, the unit was presented with many merit certificates by the State President, Prime Minister, Ministries of National Defence and Public Security, and others. Notably, it gained the title of the “Determination to win” unit for five consecutive years from 2009.
