After inspection, Senior Colonel Tham praised border guard troops’ responsibility and efforts in the COVID-19 prevention and control, especially during the Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays.
Particularly, personnel at medical checkpoints have strictly carried out higher levels’ directives on the COVID-19 prevention and control. Recently, the provincial Border Guard Command has set up eight checkpoints, formed 18 patrol teams to watch border areas, and taken various drastic measures to prevent illegal border crossings.
The Vietnamese border guard force also promoted information exchange relating to the COVID-19 fight with their Cambodian peers and collaborated with them to prevent illegal border crossings.
Amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic in neighboring countries, Senior Colonel Tham asked the province’s border guard force to exert more efforts and consider the COVID-19 prevention and control mission a combat mission in peacetime of the force.
Tham said that in the coming time, the provincial Border Guard Command will foster cooperation with other forces to prevent illegal border crossings, contributing to fighting the pandemic.
