PANO – The whole army units on March 1st kicked off their new training courses for 2015 and emulation campaigns towards the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South (April 30th).

Attending a ceremony of Brigade 490 of the Artillery Arm, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, asked the unit to thoroughly grasp and strictly carry out resolutions of higher commands, raise training quality, and train troops to proficiently use weapons and military equipment.

This year, Military Zone 2 targeted 100 per cent of troops’ training results meeting set requirements, while Military Zone 3 will continue paying attention to combining military training with political education and building strong party committees and comprehensively strong units.

Before launching new-year training courses, Military Zone 5 and Military Commands of Quang Ninh and Nam Dinh provinces and Hai Phong City spent billions of VND to upgrade teaching tools and training grounds.

Regiment 239 (Division 361, Air Defence-Air Force Service) started its 2015 training course and received the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” for its Radar Station 26.

In addition, Division 370 of Air Defence-Air Force Service will attach special importance to keeping high combat readiness and boosting pilots’ quality and ensuring traffic safety.

The same day, Military Zones 5, 7 and 9; Naval Region 3 of the Vietnam People’s Navy; Coast Guard Region 2 of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Signal, Tank-Armoured and Commando Arms; and some army corps also carried out similar activities.
