Permanent member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Director of the General Department of Political Affairs Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet chaired the event.
At the event, Major General Nguyen Duc Hung, former Political Commissar of Army Corps 12, who has been appointed Political Commissar of Military Region 3 according to the decision by the Prime Minister, handed over duties of Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Army Corps 12 to Senior Colonel Tran Dai Thang, former Deputy Political Commissar.

In his speech, Gen. Quyet spoke highly of the good preparation for the duty handover ceremony with close, detailed, and highly agreed-upon contents.
The CMC’s permanent member acknowledged Maj. Gen. Nguyen Duc Hung’s dedication and contribution to Army Corps 12, his firm political stance, absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people, strict observance of the Party and military discipline, and effective leadership over task performance.

Highlighting Sr. Col. Tran Dai Thang’s maturity and positive contribution to building a healthy, strong Party organization and a comprehensively-strong, exemplary and typical unit, Gen. Quyet asked him, in his new post, to continue exerting efforts, promote solidarity, and set an example in terms of morality, lifestyle, and working style. Sr. Col. Thang was also asked to bring into play his capability and excellently complete assignments, contributing to the development of Army Corps 12 to meet task requirements in the new situation.

Gen. Quyet requested the Party Committee and Command of the unit to grasp situations and pro-actively give recommendations to the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense to lead the implementation of military and defense tasks.
They should also closely coordinate with the local Party committee and authorities to protect the designated strategic areas, direct the performance of combat readiness duty and training sessions, and the preparation and successful organization of all-level Party congresses and the Congress of Army Corps 12’s Party Organization of the 2025-2030 tenure, among others.
