PANO – The Air Defense and Air Force (ADAF) Service of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held the 2016 Northern firefighting and rescue drill on August 12 at the ADAF Academy, with the participation of 168 firefighters from 26 delegations of 12 northern agencies and units.

The drill featured firefighting techniques; using fire-engines to spray water; to save planes on fire; search and rescue by air; emergency aid for serious victims; and firefighting with the use of special vehicles at units, warehouses, and factories.

The event aims to improve firefighting skills, search and rescue; cooperation between forces in dealing with fire and explosion for troops and locals in the region.

Through the drill, the organizing panel evaluated the results of firefighting training and rescue programs for troops, and set plans for future.

The panel presented one first, two second and three third prizes to outstanding agencies and units.
