The event was attended by leaders of the Political Department of Military Region 3, the Military Youth Advisory Board, the provincial Military Command, the provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, agencies, organizations, enlisted youths, and their relatives and friends.
During the event, participants offered incense in commemoration of the fallen; visited historical relic sites; had exchange with war veterans, historical witnesses, and demobilized troops in 2023; participated in artistic, cultural, and sports exchanges. On the occasion, units presented gifts to youths enlisted to military and public security units.
According to Senior Colonel Tran Viet Nang, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board, the program aimed to disseminate and educate young people about patriotic traditions, national pride, and tradition of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army as well as to create a joyful atmosphere to encourage young people to join the military.
It was also to raise youths and local people’ awareness of and responsibility for strengthening the whole people’s defense and people's warfare posture, contributing to the building of the revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually-modernized People's Army.
Activities within the program demonstrated the concern and encouragement of agencies and units at all levels for youths before they joined the military. They were to create a forum for enlisted youths and delegates from military units, departments, agencies, and organizations to exchange and prepare the enlistees to undertake and successfully fulfill all assigned missions.
Representing enlisted youths in the locality, new recruit Ta Quang Thang from Le Hong Phong ward said that having the opportunity to live in a peaceful, stable, and developed environment, he was fully aware that protecting the Fatherland and maintaining national security and public order is the duty and responsibility of each youth.
He promised to strive, stay united, overcome difficulties, actively study and train, strictly observe State law, military discipline, and their units’ regulations to excellently complete assigned missions.
