Vietnamese unit congratulates Cambodian border protection forces on Chol Chnam Thmay
PANO - The Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command sent a mission to visit and extend New Year greetings to the border protection forces of Cambodia’s Ratanakiri province on April 10 and 11 on the occasion of Cambodia’s traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival.
The mission, led by Political Commissar Senior Colonel Ro Mah Tuan, wished officers and soldiers of the Public Security Division, Military Sub-region, Gendarmerie Command of Ratanakiri province and their families a new year of good health, happiness, and prosperity. They hoped that the solidarity and friendship between the two countries and armed forces will be tightened and sustained.

Col. Tuan expressed his hope that the armed forces of Gia Lai and Ratanakiri will continue to closely coordinate in building, managing and protecting border, preventing illegal border-crossings, smuggling, trade fraud, drug and human trafficking. In addition, they should regularly exchange information, join hands in resolving border-related issues in a timely manner in the spirit of peace, friendship, cooperation, respect for independence, territorial integrity of each country, and disseminate information to raise local people’s awareness of the time-honored relationship between the two countries, peoples and armed forces of Gia Lai and Ratanakiri provinces.
The hosts expressed thanks to the Vietnamese mission for the visit and New Year wishes. They said that they were grateful to Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command for their great material and spiritual support, stressing that it was a source of encouragement for them to overcome difficulties and fulfill all assigned tasks.
