Passing a long distance of more than 2,100 nautical miles, the Vietnamese naval delegation well performed defense external affairs missions and trainees of the Naval Academy successfully completed all contents in the sea training program.

The success of the voyage contributed to further fostering the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese and Malaysian navies, marking a new development in training work of the Vietnam People’s Navy.

According to Naval Senior Captain Huynh Vinh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Naval Academy and head of the Vietnamese naval delegation, the voyage affirmed the efforts of the academy in renewing its training work, showing its good performance in defense external affairs. The image of Sailing ship 286-Le Quy Don - the first modern sailing ship of the Vietnam People’s Navy, spreading the message of peace and friendship has become more familiar to regional friends.

Also, Captain Tuyen underlined that via the voyage, experienced naval officers and cadets showed their capabilities and foreign language skills, beautifying the image of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Vietnamese navy in the eyes of international friends.

The highlight of the trip was the delegation exchange activities with the Malaysian Navy, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and trust and promoting practical cooperation between the two navies, especially in training, he added.

At the ceremony to draw lessons learned from the voyage, the head delegate praised the great efforts of cadets in fulfilling their assignments and the thorough preparations of all logistic and technical services for the voyage, ensuring enough food for troops and special parties and following COVID-19 prevention regulations.
