The exhibition has drawn 450 defense enterprises from Japan and 30 other countries, alongside more than 15,000 visitors. The 2025 edition not only showcases new defense equipment and technologies from the naval, army, and air forces but also displays advancements in fields such as automation, cyber defense, and space security.

Within the framework of the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia held a bilateral meeting with General Morishita Yasunori, Chief of Staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

During the meeting, the Vietnamese GS Deputy Chief underlined that, based on the foundation of bilateral relations, Vietnam–Japan defense cooperation has been continuously promoted and has achieved significant progress, particularly in delegation exchanges, cooperation between military services and corps, personnel training, cybersecurity, and war aftermath mitigation. Notably, cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force has been effectively implemented by both sides, contributing to strengthening the partnership between the two forces in accordance with the bilateral defense cooperation framework.

On the occasion, Gen. Nghia thanked the Japanese Government for its non-refundable aid worth approximately USD 2.7 million for dioxin and environmental analysis equipment, as well as its support in launching a project to provide bomb and mine clearance equipment to Vietnam. He described the assistance as a meaningful contribution to post-war recovery and environmental protection efforts in Vietnam.

For his part, General Morishita Yasunori agreed with Gen. Nghia’s assessment of the cooperation results between the two sides in recent years, expressing hope that in the time ahead, both sides will continue to promote bilateral defense ties in a more effective and substantive manner, focusing on the defense industry, search and rescue, and U.N. peacekeeping operations.
