DSEI JAPAN took place for the first time in 2019 and was scheduled to be biennially organized. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2nd DSEI JAPAN Exhibition was postponed to early 2023.

The second edition of DSEI JAPAN attracted the participation of 292 companies from 24 countries, including 33 businesses from the host. The event showcased the latest products and technologies for naval, army, and air forces developed by defense businesses of countries around the world. Products and technologies ranged from command and control systems to cyber-security, global security, and new materials.

This year, the exhibition had more than 70 stalls, including those of giants BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Thales, and Rolls Royce, proving the attractiveness of the event.  

Within the framework of the exhibition, Major General Pham Truong Son received Major General Ohashi Satoru, Deputy Director of the Equipment, Technology and Logistics Agency of Japanese Ministry of Defense.

During the conversation, Major General Ohashi Satoru thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for sending a delegation to attend the exhibition, saying that it showed Vietnam's support for Japan-hosted activity, contributing to the overall success of the event.

For his part, Major General Pham Truong Son highly appreciated the professionalism of Japan in organizing the event. He emphasized that the exhibition was an opportunity for Vietnam to learn about the features of various types of latest equipment as well as defense technologies and to exchange experience with the Japanese side in organizing the event in preparation for the next edition of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition.
