Vietnamese coast guard ship departs for Philippines
PANO - Ship 8002 of Flotilla 21, with a coast guard delegation led by Colonel Hoang Quoc Dat, Second-in-Command of Coast Guard Region 2, departed for visits and exchanges with the Philippine Coast Guard on July 31.

Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2 Command, was present at the port to see off the delegation.
As scheduled, the delegation will pay courtesy visits on leaders of the Philippine Coast Guard; participate in sports exchange activities; tour cultural sites in the capital of Manila; join a joint practicing session with ships of the Philippine Coast Guard on search and rescue, fire and explosion prevention and fighting at sea to enhance command and coordination capabilities; master skills to use equipment on board; and handle situations in international waters, among others.

According to Colonel Hoang Quoc Dat, the trip will contribute to strengthening the friendship, mutual understanding, and trust between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Philippine Coast Guard. It will also offer opportunities for the two forces to exchange and share experience in task performance.

Through the trip, the Vietnamese coast guard force will realize the direction of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on international integration and defense external affairs; deepen friendship and comprehensive cooperation; raise the law enforcement capability at sea; maintain peace, stability, security and safety in relevant sea areas and in the region, among others.
Ship 8002 is expected to dock at Manila port, the Philippines on August 5.
