The meeting took place in a friendly, open, and trustful atmosphere. Both sides reviewed the outcomes of their joint border management and cross-border crime prevention efforts from October 2023 to present, analyzing current challenges and jointly deciding on future collaboration methods.

The two sides agreed to uphold the three legal documents on border affairs and the cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security signed in Hanoi on February 19, 2021. This agreement established a three-tiered law enforcement coordination mechanism for control at border gates and land border crossings.

Both sides were committed to exchanging relevant information to boost cross-border crime prevention capabilities, using hotlines, unscheduled delegation exchange, and monthly joint patrols. They also discussed recommending local authorities expedite the opening and upgrading of U Ma Tu Khoong – Pinghe border gates and accelerate construction procedures for a multifunctional bridge at Ma Lu Thang – Jinshuihe border gates.
