Vietnam, Turkey to deepen defense cooperation
PANO - On January 9, at the Ministry of National Defense’s headquarters, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, received Colonel Ozgur Bulent, newly-appointed Turkish Defense Attaché to Vietnam.
At the reception, General Chien congratulated Colonel Bulent on his new appointment. He affirmed that the appointment of Defense Attachés by both sides marks a significant milestone in bilateral defense relations, paving the way for more effective, substantive, and in-depth cooperation.

Highly appreciating recent cooperation results, General Chien requested Colonel Bulent to continue promoting key areas, including delegation exchanges at all levels; education and training; defense industry; and sharing experiences in navy, air force, cyber security, engineering, bomb and mine clearance, and responding to non-traditional security challenges.
The Vietnamese defense leader stated that Vietnam is ready to receive Turkish military personnel for Vietnamese language courses and the International Defense Officials course. On this occasion, he cordially invited leaders of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and defense enterprises to attend the Vietnam Defense Expo 2026.

Expressing his honor to take office in Vietnam, Colonel Bulent affirmed that defense cooperation is a key pillar in the bilateral relationship. He pledged to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to further promote effectively the bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
