Vietnam People's Navy Commander attends Russian Navy Day parade
PANO - On July 30, a parade commemorating the 327th anniversary of the Russian Navy took place in St Petersburg. Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the event and delivered a speech.
Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem, the Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, participated in the ceremony.

Russia has a longstanding tradition of organizing Navy parades. These events are often associated with historical occasions to celebrate victories and honor the military. Russian Navy Day is annually celebrated at the end of July, starting from 1939, and this year's celebration included various activities such as lighting the rostral columns, conducting the Navy parade, and hosting a concert at the Palace Square in St Petersburg.

The parade featured the participation of more than 40 ships, boats, 4 submarines, and over 3,000 naval personnel.

On this occasion, the Vietnam People’s Navy Commander held meetings with the Russian Navy Commander and counterparts from Cuba, Myanmar, and Azerbaijan.
