The Russian Ministry of Defense sends liaison officers and vehicles to welcome the delegation at Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow.

Since temperature fluctuations could impact the soldiers’ health, health protection for the entire delegation is given special attention. Major General Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice President of Army Officer Candidate School No.1 and head of the delegation, stated that he has directed the medical unit accompanying the delegation to bring a full stock of medicines for use when necessary.

Earlier, on April 14 night, the 84-strong delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army arrived in Moscow after 20 hours, transiting via Shanghai and Guangzhou (China) before reaching Moscow.

The Vietnamese officers and soldiers in the first rehearsal for the upcoming event

The Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War was a triumph of patriotism, courage, humanitarian ideals, and international justice. It marked a decisive turning point in human history, putting an end to fascist expansion. It was a victory of light over darkness, of progress over reaction, and of peace over war.

Amid the complex development of the international situation, Vietnam's participation in the Red Square Parade affirms its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification, demonstrating the country’s responsibility in building and maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and developed environment.
