The defense leader thanked and applauded agencies and units for pro-active preparation of forces, vehicles, materials and contents, contributing to the success of the event and forces related to protocol, security, and communications.
Gen. Chien emphasized that in this expo, affiliates of the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI) and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) signed 16 contracts worth USD 286.3 million in total. Seventeenth strategic cooperation agreements were inked between Vietnam’s defense industry units and businesses from such countries such as the U.S., India, France and Belgium. These were highlights on domestic and international media, helping spread good images of the land, people and military of Vietnam.

According to the head of the Steering Board of the expo, the expo gathered 242 defense industry units and enterprises from over 30 countries, showcasing their diverse products at over 440 indoor and outdoor booths.
As of 12 p.m. on December 22, the expo had welcomed over 260,000 visitors.

Speaking at the event, Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the GDDI, noted that the organizers ensured 1,872 bilateral meetings and contacts between Vietnamese military enterprises and their international peers to discuss and boost potential cooperation areas. Vietnamese enterprises received many orders from foreign partners.

The expo helped affirm the right foreign policy of the Party and State. Through this event, local people learnt more about the national defense industry and were more confident in the development of the defense industry of Vietnam and the military’s strength. In addition, it raised troops’ awareness, responsibility and pride and promoted ties with the people in the Fatherland building and defense cause.
At the event, the organizers announced decisions to reward outstanding collectives and individuals during the expo.
