PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Truong Quang Khanh, Deputy Minister of National Defence, on May 12th met with his Czech counterpart Tomas Kuchta in the Czech Republic.
At the meeting, the two sides expressed pleasure at the fine bilateral relations between the two countries in general and the two ministries of defence in particular, confirming that the two countries hold firm ground for further enhancement of defence ties.

The Vietnamese official proposed that the Czech Republic continue implementing the programs signed between Vietnamese businesses and the Czech Ministry of Defence as well as the training cooperation. Citing the contents of the talks between President Truong Tan Sang of Vietnam and Czech President Milos Zeman, the Vietnamese official laid stress on the cooperation on UXO clearance and consequence relief and the country’s support for Vietnam in UN peacekeeping operations. He expected that the two countries’ defence ties would enjoy higher development.
The Czech official agreed with his Vietnamese counterpart and confirmed that his ministry of defence would enhance cooperation with that of Vietnam so as to implement the signed agreements.
Earlier the same day, the Vietnamese official visited AERO Vodochody Group and the University of Defence in Brno.
