PANO – Vietnam always gives priority to developing defence cooperation with its traditional friends, including Hungary and the UK.
This was reaffirmed by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defence Minister, at the receptions given to Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam Ms. Torda Eszter and the outgoing and newly-appointed UK Defence Attachés at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence on November 7th.
General Vinh added that Vietnam and Hungary should do their utmost to foster their defence relations to a new height, contributing to promoting the two nations’ mutual trust and understanding.
For her part, Ms. Torda Eszter said that Hungary is ready to share its experiences with Vietnam in military industry, education and training, and UN peacekeeping activities.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister highly valued efforts of outgoing UK Defence Attaché Colonel Clive Coombes and expressed gratitude for his contributions to fostering multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and the UK over the past time.
The general also believed that Colonel Tim Below, the successor of Colonel Clive Coombes, would further promote the bilateral defence cooperation.
Colonel Tim Below hoped that the Vietnamese Defence Ministry would continue creating favourable conditions for him to fulfil his term of office in Vietnam.
