Vietnam - Australia training exchange on service rifle shooting skills concluded
PANO - The Vietnam – Australia Combat Shooting Training Exchange that was opened 10 days ago at the Mieu Mon National Training Center in Hanoi was closed on February 18.
The closing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army; Major General Thai Van Minh, Head of the Department of Military Training under the General Staff; Australian Minister for Defense Linda Reynolds and Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie.
Speaking at the event, General Nghia stressed that the bilateral defense ties have been developed comprehensively over the past time on the basis of the 2010 memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation and the 2018 Joint Vision Statement on enhancing defense ties. The Deputy Chief of the General Staff expressed his thanks to the Australian military experts, who supported and shared experience with Vietnamese marksmen. He hoped that the two sides will continue the bilateral defense cooperation for practical and effective outcomes, contributing to boosting the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership for peace, cooperation, and mutual development in the region and the world.
During the ten-day course, Australian experts provided knowledge on safety regulations and firing gestures of pistols, rifles and sniper rifles for Vietnamese trainees. Reportedly, the course met the set requirements with absolute safety for participants and equipment.
On this occasion, leaders of the General Staff presented souvenirs to Australian experts and certificates of merit to outstanding trainees.
