Vietnam attends first Korea-ASEAN Armies Chiefs Conference

The Vietnamese delegation attended the event at the invitation of General Park An-su, Chief of Staff of the RoK’s Army.

The KACC aimed to create a forum for chiefs and representatives of armies of ASEAN countries and the RoK to share views on regional and global situations, and discuss cooperation possibilities in army-related fields, contributing to peace and stability in the region.

This first-ever event consisted of two sessions with a focus on reviewing regional security and promoting strategic network for armies.

In his speech, themed “ASEAN-RoK exchange on cooperation in defense science and technology and logistics support,” Gen. Nghia emphasized the need to enhance research on defense science and technology and maintenance of direct logistics services to raise synergy and combat readiness capability of military.

On the sidelines of the KACC, Gen. Nghia had bilateral meetings with Chief of Staff of the RoK’s Army Gen. Park An-su; Chief of the Cambodian Army Gen. Mao So Phan; Chief of the Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Roy Mabagos Galido. He also had sidelines contacts with heads of participating delegations to discuss measures to boost coordination.

In the framework of the conference, the Vietnamese delegation attended the fourth Korea-ASEAN+ International Forum on Logistics and the Korea Army International Defense Industry Exhibition (KADEX) 2024.

At KADEX 2024, Gen. Nghia met with Lt. Gen. Ueda Kazumasa, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
