Vietnam and Laos share experience in trade union activities
PANO - Vietnam’s Defense Trade Union Board and a delegation of trade union officials of the Lao People’s Army exchanged experience in trade union activities on July 15 in Hanoi.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc, Head of Vietnam’s Defense Trade Union Board, and Lieutenant Colonel Xaysana Thammsone, Head of the delegation of trade union officials of the Lao People’s Army, co-chaired the event.

Speaking at the working session, Senior Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc affirmed that this was an opportunity for trade union officials of the two countries to exchange experience in organizing trade union chapters and conducting activities.
The Defense Trade Union Board of the Vietnam People’s Army is tasked with studying and helping leaders of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) giving recommendation to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on guidelines and measures to conduct activities and movements for trade union members in the whole military. Meanwhile, the board actively coordinates with the GDP’s functional agencies to carry out information dissemination and education and maintain activities to take care of its members and defense workers, helping the board’s agencies, units, and enterprises accomplish their political tasks.

For the Lao part, Lieutenant Colonel Xaysana Thammasone thanked the Vietnamese side for the warm welcome, briefing the Defense Trade Union Board on the organization and tasks of the Trade Union of the Lao People's Army as well as its outstanding activities recently.
At the event, the two sides affirmed that they would continue building the faithful and sustainable solidarity between the two parties, states, and militaries.
