PANO - Vietnam and Italy on November 10th discussed in Hanoi the possibility of their expanded defence industry cooperation in the time to come at a seminar on Vietnam-Italy national defence enterprizes.

Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Mr. Domenico Rossi, Deputy Defence Minister of Italy attended the seminar which was co-chaired by Major General Doan Hung Minh, Deputy Director of the Vietnamese General Department of Defence Industry and visiting Vice Admiral Valter Girandelli, Defence Deputy Secretary General and Deputy Armaments Director.

In his speech, General Tuan affirmed the growing bilateral ties between Vietnam and Italy in many fields, including national defence, especially since the two countries established their strategic partnerships.

The Vietnamese general held that Vietnam wished to boost its defence ties with Italy and that Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence welcomed Italian enterprizes to Vietnam to seek cooperation potential.

For his part, Italian Deputy Defence Minister Domenico Rossi emphasized that Italy wished to expand its defence cooperation with Vietnam, including defence industry to contribute to maintaining and ensuring security, peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world.
