Ship 263 leaves Sihanoukville port for Vietnam, ending Cambodia visit
PANO - Ship 263 with a delegation of Naval Region 5 of the Vietnam People’s Navy, led by Senior Captain Trinh Xuan Tung, Naval Region 5’s Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff, left Sihanoukville port in Cambodian province of Preah Sihanouk on September 29, concluding the visit and exchange with the Royal Cambodian Navy.
During the four-day working visit, the Vietnamese delegation visited and exchanged with the front-line headquarters of the Island-Coast Guard Command and the Ream Naval Base of the Royal Cambodian Navy.

They also held talks, and shared information and experience in task performance and in coordination with other foreign naval units in cultural, artistic, and sport exchanges.

Also in Cambodia, the delegation of Naval Region 5 of the Vietnam People’s Navy paid a courtesy call on the Consulate General of Vietnam in Preah Sihanouk; offered incense and flowers at the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Monument in tribute to Vietnamese volunteer troops who had sacrificed their lives during the fight to overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime, helping Cambodian people escape from the genocide.

The visit, according to the two sides’ evaluation, held a significant meaning since it helped deepen the friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding, trust, and support between the two navies, contributing to upholding peace, and stability in the bordering waters and historical waters between Vietnam and Cambodia.
