Philippine Coast Guard young officer delegation arrives in Vietnam for exchange program
PANO - On July 6, a delegation of young officers from the Philippine Coast Guard, led by Captain Alberto T. Ferre, Chief of Staff of the Maritime Safety Services Command, arrived at Da Nang International Airport to attend the first Vietnam-Philippines Coast Guard Young Officer Exchange Program in 2026.
Representatives of functional agencies under the Coast Guard Region 2 Command welcomed the delegation at the airport.
The exchange program is taking place from July 6 to 10 in Da Nang city. As scheduled, the opening ceremony and a discussion session between the young officers of the two forces were held on July 7.

Within the program’s framework, the young officers from both countries will participate in various meaningful activities. These include visiting and presenting gifts at the SOS Children’s Village in Da Nang city, paying a courtesy call on the Commander of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, and touring Vietnam Coast Guard ships as well as the Coast Guard Region 2 Command headquarters. They will also explore historical and cultural values in Hoi An ancient town and Da Nang city.
The program aims to enhance cooperation, mutual understanding, and solidarity between young officers of the Vietnam and the Philippine Coast Guards, thereby promoting coordination in maritime law enforcement, security, and safety.
