The ceremony was chaired by the department’s Director Major General Hoang Kim Phung, representatives from the Ministry of National Defense (MND)’s affiliated units, and all members of the Engineering Company Rotation 1 and L2FH Rotation 4.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation offered incense and laid a wreath at Bac Son Heroic Martyrs’ Monument and President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.

On this occasion, General Phung launched an emulation movement among the troops. He also expressed his confidence that they would overcome all difficulties to best perform their assigned missions.

In front of President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, representatives of the Engineering Company Rotation 1 and L2FH Rotation 4 signed covenants, determining to well fulfill all missions assigned by the Party, State and military.

Currently, they have made thorough preparation and been ready to join U.N. peacekeeping operations.

The L2FH Rotation 4 is scheduled to depart for the U.N. Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on April 27 while the Engineering Company Rotation 1 will leave the country for the U.N. Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) on May 2.
