At the meeting, Gen. Dung expressed delight at welcoming Lt. Gen. Pasith Thiengtham who is on his first visit to Vietnam as the Deputy Minister of Defense of Laos. He said that this trip vividly demonstrated the special relationship between the two countries and militaries.
Briefing the guest on the situation and notable achievements in task performance of Military Region 4’s armed forces over the past time, Gen. Dung expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for the valuable assistance provided by the Lao Party, State, military, and people for Vietnam during the national liberation struggle and renewal process.

He said that troops of Military Region 4’s armed forces are well aware of the close-knit relationship between the two countries and determined to preserve and bring into play the traditions and special friendship between the two parties, states, militaries, and peoples.
The political commissar of Military Region 4 hoped that as the Deputy Minister of the Lao Defense Ministry, Gen. Thiengtham would continue to attach much importance to directing the armed forces to foster coordination with localities, military units, and the armed forces of Military Region 4, contributing to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of mission implementation, further nurturing the special friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

The Lao deputy defense minister congratulated and highly appreciated Military Region 4’s armed forces for their achievements and affirmed that the Lao Party, State, military, party committees, authorities, and people always bear in mind and treasure the military region’s significant, enthusiastic, responsible, and effective support to Laos during the war against common enemies and in the current renewal cause. He added that Laos always trusts and feels reassured thanks to the assistance from faithful Vietnamese companions in its hunger elimination, poverty reduction, and economic development.

Expressing the delight at visiting Military Region 4 and being warmly welcomed by the host, Gen. Thiengtham expressed confidence that the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in general and two militaries in particular will remain evergreen, sustainable forever, as desired and cherished by the two parties, states, armed forces, and peoples.
