GS’s deputy chief receives Russian guest
PANO - Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Nguyen Ba Luc received Lieutenant General Oleg Ivanovich Iskuskov, Deputy Director of the Defense Control Center under the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense’s headquarters on November 5.

At the meeting, Gen. Luc emphasized that over the past time, the time-tested friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia have been continuously cultivated. High-level visits and contacts have created strong momentum to lift the bilateral relations to a new high and develop in an intensive, practical, and effective manner.
The host expressed his delight at the positive outcomes of the bilateral defense cooperation in recent times, particularly in delegation exchanges, training, service-to-service cooperation, scientific research within the framework of the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center, effective coordination and consultation at international multilateral mechanisms and forums on defense, especially ASEAN-led ones, including the ADMM Plus.
He highly appreciated achievements gained during the guest’s working sessions in Vietnam, saying that they helped boost experience sharing and mutual understanding. He suggested the two agencies maintain exchanges of delegations, share experience, thereby fostering the bilateral defense ties effectively and substantively.

For his part, Lt. Gen. Oleg Ivanovich Iskuskov underlined that the relationship between Russia and Vietnam is built on mutual trust and understanding. He showed his pleasure with the two countries’ defense cooperation outcomes, especially in training, military medicine, and active engagement in events hosted by each side.
