Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem receives Russian Defense Attaché
PANO – On October 2 in Hai Phong city, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem, Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, received Colonel Sergey Vladimirovich Belosludtsev, who has been appointed as Defense Attaché of the Russian Federation to Vietnam.
Welcoming Colonel Sergey Vladimirovich Belosludtsev, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem expressed his hope that, in this capacity, the Russian diplomat would continue to serve as a bridge to effectively implement key orientations and important areas of defense cooperation between the two countries in the time ahead.

The host emphasized that Vietnam and the Russian Federation share a traditional friendship and a comprehensive strategic partnership. The long-standing ties of goodwill and traditional friendship between the two nations have always been cherished, preserved, and developed by their leaders and people. Notably, with a history spanning 75 years, defense cooperation has consistently received special attention from the Party, State, and Government leaders of both countries.
He expressed his expectation that, in the future, Colonel Sergey Vladimirovich Belosludtsev, in his new role, would actively support the promotion of naval cooperation between the two countries, ensuring it continues to develop in depth and effectiveness, and stands out as a highlight of bilateral defense cooperation. He noted that cooperation between the two navies should focus on areas such as training, education, and port calls.

For his part, Colonel Sergey Vladimirovich Belosludtsev thanked the host for the warm welcome. He affirmed that, as Defense Attaché, he would strive to build on the achievements of his predecessors and work closely with the relevant agencies of both sides to further strengthen overall defense relations, particularly the ties between the two navies.
