Defense leader receives Russian defense attaché
PANO - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang received Colonel Belosludtsev Sergey Vladimirovich, new Russian defense attaché to Vietnam, on October 9 at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.
At the meeting, Gen. Thang congratulated the Russian officer on his appointment and expressed confidence that he would make effective contribution to the bilateral defense cooperation.
The host evaluated that in recent years, the Vietnam - Russia defense cooperation has been effectively implemented and achieved significant outcomes across various areas. He highlighted delegation exchanges, particularly high-level ones; effective maintenance of cooperation mechanisms such as defense strategic dialogues at the deputy ministerial level; collaboration between arms and services, agencies, units, academies, and military schools, especially scientific and technological research cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center; and coordination at multilateral defense mechanisms and forums.

Based on the signed agreements and documents, Gen. Thang suggested Colonel Belosludtsev Sergey Vladimirovich continue working closely with the Department of Foreign Relations and other relevant agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam to effectively implement the agreed areas of cooperation. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry would provide favorable conditions to help the Russian diplomat successfully fulfill his term.
For his part, Colonel Belosludtsev Sergey Vladimirovich expressed his honor in taking up the post of Defense Attaché of the Russian Federation to Vietnam and his admiration for the country’s glorious traditions. He highly valued the results achieved in bilateral defense cooperation and affirmed his determination to further promote the ties during his tenure.
