At the reception, General Cuong congratulated Cambodia on its achievements over the past time in many fields, such as politics, economy, foreign affairs, and defense. He expressed his hope that under the leadership of the Cambodian People’s Party, headed by Chairman Hun Sen, and the government of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia will achieve even greater successes in the future.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that Vietnam highly values and prioritizes strengthening and developing the “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term relations” with Cambodia. He thanked the Cambodian government for sending a high-ranking delegation, led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, to attend the ceremony in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of Whole-People Defense Festive Day (December 22) and the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024, contributing to the success of these events.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that Vietnam-Cambodia military and defense cooperation has continued to develop effectively, serving as an important pillar of the bilateral relations, focusing on many areas such as exchanges at all levels, particularly high-level delegations; human resource training; border management and protection; supporting border people in socio-economic development; and coordination and mutual support in international forums and multilateral mechanisms. He affirmed that the cooperation is built on trust and sincerity.

On this occasion, General Nguyen Tan Cuong highly valued the results of cooperation in cryptographic sectors between Vietnam and Cambodia, particularly in delegation exchange, training, among others. He suggested that both sides continue to effectively implement agreed cooperation contents and affirmed that the Vietnamese defense leaders will always create favorable conditions for both sides to boost cooperation in the cryptographic field, contributing to deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
General Samrith Dy thanked General Nguyen Tan Cuong for his reception and conveyed the regards of the Cambodian Minister of Interior to the Vietnamese Minister of National Defense.
He hoped that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense would support the Cambodian cryptographic sector, thereby promoting the bilateral cooperation in this field.
