Deputy-Defense Minister hosts Lao military delegation
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Defense Minister hosted a reception for a visiting delegation of the Lao Ministry of Defense’s Office, led by its chief, Lieutenant General Khamsi Vongkhamsao on October 9 at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.
At the meeting, the Lao general informed the host of the outcomes of the Lao delegation’s earlier working session with the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense’s Office. Accordingly, in an open and frank atmosphere, the two sides reviewed achievements in their cooperation over the past time and mapped out cooperative orientations in the time to come.

General Don highly valued the results of the cooperation between the two offices and hoped that they would further cooperate in their specialized fields.
General Don suggested the two sides concentrate their cooperation in training, delegation exchange, information technology and archives.
He confirmed that the leadership of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense has always supported and provided favorable conditions for the two offices to reinforce their ties, contributing to deepening the defense ties between the two countries.
Earlier in the day, the delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense’s Office, led by Major General Nguyen Van Bong held talks with the Lao delegation.
At the talks, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of their cooperation in recent time and agreed on future cooperation.
While in Vietnam, the Lao delegation will visit some agencies and units under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and some cultural historical relics and landscapes.
