Australia supports Vietnam in preparing L2FH No.3
PANO - An Australian mission, including Ms. Julianne Cowley, Australian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, and Colonel Nerolie McDonald, Australian Defense Attaché to Vietnam, worked with Military Hospital 175 under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on the preparation of the Level-2 Field hospital No.3 (L2FH).
The mission visited medical departments of the hospital to learn about the hospital’s professional capacity and medical activities as well as its previous cooperation with Australian experts in training L2FH No.1.
During the visit, the two sides discussed specific activities and coordination contents in training L2FH No.3 for United Nations peacekeeping operations. They stressed the cooperation in English language training, medical equipment, rotation of troops after L2FH No.1 completes its international mission at the UN Mission in South Sudan, and exchanges of officers.

The Australian Consul-General expressed delight at the fine bilateral defense cooperation in the past time which has developed in an intensive and effective manner with significant and practical activities.
She also highlighted the high efficiency of Australia’s support for the Vietnamese military in training and deploying L2FH No.1 to the UN Mission in South Sudan, saying that the Vietnamese level-2 field hospital has met all standards and operated smoothly and effectively in South Sudan. The good service of the hospital’s staff has promoted Vietnam’s role, position and demonstrated Vietnam’s sense of responsibility for the international community while improving the country’s image in the eyes of international friends.
Australia pledges to promote its support for and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, thereby deepening the fruitful relationship between Vietnam and Australia, especially in defense ties and cooperation, the Australian official said.
The Vietnamese hospital’s leadership conveyed thanks to the Australian mission and promised to well organize cooperation activities and create best conditions for Australian experts to work, give lectures and conduct training in Vietnam.
