PANO – It is necessary to specify the current developments of the region, world and each country, and the multifaceted impacts on cooperation partnership with Vietnam within the ASEAN-India ties in order to promote cooperation among them to benefit every side.

This was stressed by Director of the Hanoi-based Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Professor Ta Ngoc Tan, at the international scientific conference “Vietnam, ASEAN-India development cooperation: Reality and Prospect” on September 29th.

Professor Ta Ngoc Tan addressed the event

The event was co-chaired by Professor Ta Ngoc Tan, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Preeti Saran and Director of the India Research Centre Associate Professor Le Van Toan, and saw the participation of representatives of embassies of ASEAN member countries to Vietnam and local agencies, and Indian scholars and businesspersons.

Professor Ta Ngoc Tan added that over the past 20 years, though the cooperation among Vietnam, ASEAN and India has been developing considerably, the achievements have not yet matched their potential or their expectations.

Thus, he urged the participants to discuss the multifaceted impacts and results as well as the shortcomings of the Vietnam, ASEAN and India relations. From there, they canfind suitable measures to boost their cooperation in the five major fields of culture-education, science, technology, energy and national defence-security, which were reached by Vietnam and India previously.

During the two-day event, 122 memoirs were delivered.

Earlier in 2015, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held some scientific workshops on the Vietnam, ASEAN and India relations.
