Weil was also the recipient of an award from Vietnam’s national committee on external information service for her articles on Vietnam’s 70th National Day and 40th National Reunification Day. Her articles were published by the friendship association and several Swiss left-wing newspapers.

Weil took part in a campaign protesting against war in Vietnam in the 1960s. As a member and later Chairwoman of the Switzerland-Vietnam Friendship Association, she has been working to support needy Vietnamese, particularly dioxin victims, and to promote Vietnamese language among Vietnamese expatriates in Switzerland. She was also involved in placing news booths providing facts about the East Sea issue in Vietnamese areas.

Another recognised for her distinction was Ngoc Dung Moser, Secretary General of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Switzerland. She is renowned for her commitment to teaching the Vietnamese language and charitable work.

The presentation of the Foreign Ministry’s certificates of merit was among activities to mark 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Switzerland (October 11, 1971-2016).
