At the reception, the Indonesia leader highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy and culture, affirming that his country attaches importance to boosting ties with Vietnam.
He expressed his wish that the two nations will increase maritime cooperation, accelerate negotiations on demarcation of an exclusive economic zone at sea, and promote collaboration in education-training and culture.
For his part, the Vietnamese ambassador said he is pleased with the development of the bilateral relationship, especially since the two countries set up their strategic partnership in June 2013.
With the current pace, two-way trade is expected to hit 10 billion USD by 2018 as pledged by the two countries’ leaders, he added.
Affirming Vietnam’s determination to continuously tighten its relations with Indonesia, Tuan said that the two countries will see great cooperation opportunities in 2016 as the formation of the ASEAN Community marks a comprehensive regional integration.
