These awards are presented in recognition of the efficient investment of the businesses in using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which saves considerable amount of fuel and reduces carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. By shifting from coal to LPG, the two aforementioned businesses reduced CO2 emissions by up to 89.9% and 74%, and saved 77.98% and 61.05% of fuel respectively.

The energy efficiency award is an initiative of the Green Investment Fund (GIF) aiming at encouraging energy-efficient investment among small- and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam. The two businesses are the first to benefit from loans under the patron of GIF in Kim Lan ceramic village.

There will be at least 20 other businesses in the village to apply new technologies in the coming time thanks to the support of GIF.
