PANO - The 20th World Police Band Concert was kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on November 14th, with the participation of five music bands from Japan, the United States, Singapore and the host Vietnam.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Public Security Sen. Lt. Gen. Dang Van Hieu held that the event aims to enhance cooperation and mutual understanding among police forces in the world.
Vietnam's Public Security Ministry is always willing to cooperate with other countries' law enforcement agencies and international organizations to fight crime, contributing to maintaining peace, security and prosperity in the region and the world as well, he added.
After the ceremony, the bands started a parade along Dong Khoi, Ton Duc Thang and Nguyen Hue Streets.
This is the second time the music festival was organized in Vietnam after the first in Hanoi in 2011.
