A team of volunteer students from the Republic of Korea (RoK) helped build a water filter system, benefiting 300 pupils at a primary school in Phuoc An commune, Tuy Phuoc district in central Binh Dinh province, which was inaugurated on August 10.
The system is part of activities under the “green summer” programme of the RoK’s Seoul National University, funded by the RoK Institute for Hydraulics and Nuclear Energy with a 15,000 USD.
The solar power-run facility, installed at the Phuoc An No. 3 Primary School, is the result of one week of joint efforts made by 44 RoK students and technicians and 10 students from the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City.
Under the programme, another 10 domestic water filters are being installed in disadvantaged households in the commune’s Thanh Huy 2 village.
